What is it? A cleanser made with 100 petals of Rose Bourbonia from the island of Reunion. The Cleansing Oil is a makeup-melting cleansing oil brimming with rose essence, this product nourishes the skin, keeps its acid mantle in tact, and leave pH levels balanced.

Notes from the Curator: This cleansing oil melts off makeup, pollutants, and impurities while nourishing skin.

Let’s Get Nerdy: Rose and hazelnut oils are both antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, and help repair skin conditions including acne, dermatitis, aging and rough or bumpy skin.

Key Ingredients

Rose Oil: An oil that contains a wealth of benefit for the skin. Rose absolute oil is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids, all of which treat aging, irritated and congested skin

Hazelnut Oil: This nut oil increases hydration in the epidermis with high levels of Vitamin E, while also providing antibacterial benefits perfect for acne-prone skin.

Ambrette Seed Oil: This seed oil from the flowering okra plant provides anti-inflammatory and anti-irritation benefits to the skin.

About the Brand
Monastery was founded by Athena Hewett. Athena has been a certified esthetician now for 20 years, starting her own skincare studio in San Francisco in 2011. Alongside her practice she introduced a skincare line inspired by her childhood summers in the Greek Cyclades, where her grandparents lived & owned an olive grove. Throughout her childhood, Athena learned from her grandmother & her mother, practices of picking & pressing local herbs & turning nuts into oils. Athena combines her love and understanding of plant-based potions, so ingrained in her upbringing, with her training & practice as an esthetician as well as her meticulous attention to sourcing high quality ingredients, to create her beautiful products for Monastery.
