What is it? Gentle Enzyme Exfoliant is a milky serum with fermented fruit enzymes & fruit acids, complemented by hydrating & soothing ingredients.
Notes from the Curator: The milky serum format helps to buffer the exfoliating effect of the enzymes and acids, offering a more gentle experience (tingling isn’t necessary for exfoliation!). Ideal for those who prefer to avoid stronger AHA products.
Let’s Get Nerdy: It’s a non-abrasive, leave on treatment which works overnight to support the skin’s own natural exfoliation process by breaking down the proteins in excess surface skin cells (mature cells, not dead cells!) – resurfacing & moisturising the skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and healthy. The milky serum format helps to buffer the exfoliating effect of the enzymes and acids, offering a more gentle experience (tingling isn’t necessary for exfoliation!). Ideal for those who prefer to avoid stronger AHA products.
Formulated without added fragrance (the fruit extracts provide no fruit scent) or essential oils & alcohol. Suitable for all skin types (patch test for sensitive skin).

Where so much of the beauty industry is focussed on an unrealistic goal around "perfect" or "flawless" skin, Apothaka® is here to reset the goal to healthy, happy skin (and healthy ageing while we're at it!) for everyone!
Natasha carefully designs her own formulations using the best of what nature & science have to offer (skincare doesn't need to be about one OR the other!). Everything is made in the UK, no pre-made bases are used, giving her full control of the ingredients, which she selects based on their benefits for your skin and their texture. Apothaka® products are about improving the way skin looks and feels but also about enjoying the experience of using them: like bringing a bit of the spa experience at home.
- HOW TO USE
Use once or twice a week (less frequently for sensitive skin) at night as a leave-on treatment. After cleansing (and applying watery products like skin quenching essence and barrier support serum if used), apply no more than a pump to the face, avoiding the eye area. Follow up with moisturiser if needed (can also be applied over moisturiser, or used as a rinse off mask for sensitive skin). Complete your daytime routine with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF30 to protect your skin.
Patch test before first use. Do not use on irritated/compromised skin, or with any other forms of exfoliation (eg. other chemical exfoliants, physical exfoliants / or washcloths).
This product contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) which may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the risk of sunburn. Be sun smart: always use sunscreen during the daytime, protective clothing and limit sun exposure.
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. As with all products, discontinue use if irritation occurs. Use before expiry date. NB. Bottle has a large overflow volume so the product is filled to around 3cm below the neck.
