What is it? This anti-aging body balm is a nourishing firming body moisturizer to restore dry and sensitive skin.

Notes from the Curator: This body treatment was the first product that Pedro formulated while he was an in house pharmacist at an oncology clinic. It was formulated to treat the fragile, sensitive, chronically dry skin of his patients and eventually led to the creation of the Twelve Beauty line.

Let’s get Nerdy: This is a rich creamy body treatment with Squalane, organic Cupuaçu butter that restores moisture and elasticity, protective organic Candelila wax, linoleic acid-rich Spent wax, organic Imperatoria extract that helps in re-epithialization and more.

Pedro Says: “After having worked as a pharmacist for over a decade, this was the first product I ever created. With this rich, yet beautifully absorbed, body balm I wanted to correct chronic dry skin – skin that has been permanently dry, sore, tender and fragile for years. It works because the blend mimics the oils we have in our healthy skin, at the same concentrations. The feedback of this first product which was conceived originally for hospital use only, encouraged me to develop other products that also possessed optimal skin affinity – leading to what I have created today, within TWELVE Beauty.”

Key Ingredients:

Squalane: This clear fluid oil has a natural affinity to the skin, being one of the main components of the human sebum and hydrolipidic film

Organic Jojoba oil: It is easily absorbed by the skin and it is highly compatible with human sebum as it si so similar.

Organic Artemisia extract: Protects the skin with antioxidant and radical scavenging properties.

Organic Mallow extract: Possesses soothing, anti-irritant, emollient, and moisturising properties.

Organic Buddleja extract: It is an effective anti-oxidant.

Organic Cupuaçu butter: Restores moisture and elasticity, as a result, the skin is left soft and comfortable.

Organic Epilobium extract: improves skin tone.

Organic Candelilla wax: Vegetable wax with great filmforming and protecting properties.

Organic Shea butter: Improves skin softness and protects skin while easing irritation.

Organic Argan oil: With a high content of natural tocopherols (vitamin E) softens the skin.

Sodium hyaluronate: Forms a thin, invisible, transparent, visco-elastic surface film. The hyaluronic acid film helps to preserve the most important characteristics of youthful, healthy skin, such as suppleness, elasticity and tone

Organic Imperatoria extract: Properties include re-epithelialisation (helps to repair of minor cuts and wounds), moisturisation and antioxidant radical scavenging functions.

Spent grain wax: Consists mainly of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid required for regeneration of the epidermal permeability barrier. This is excellent for dry, irritated and sensitive skin.

Organic sunflower oil: Oil rich in oleic acids and contains a high content of Vitamins A and E
